Fully funded scholarships for non‑EU/EEA students to study master’s programmes in the Netherlands starting September 2027, covering tuition, living costs and additional expenses.

Overview

The Netherlands offers a range of fully funded awards for talented international students who wish to enrol in English‑taught master’s programmes for the 2027‑2028 academic year. The most notable schemes include the Maastricht University NL‑High Potential Scholarship, the TU Delft Justus & Louise van Effen Excellence Scholarship, and Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degrees that involve Dutch partner universities.

Who can apply

  • Applicants must hold a non‑EU/EEA nationality.
  • You must have (or be conditionally offered) a place on an eligible full‑time master’s programme at a participating Dutch university.
  • Strong academic performance is required – typically top‑10 % of your graduating class or equivalent.

What is covered

  • Full tuition fee waiver.
  • Living‑expense allowance (e.g., €20 150 for a 13‑month programme at Maastricht or a contribution towards living costs at TU Delft).
  • Health and liability insurance, visa application fees and, where applicable, pre‑academic training costs.
  • For Erasmus Mundus programmes, travel costs and a monthly stipend are also included.

How to apply

  1. Identify an English‑taught master’s programme that participates in the scholarship you target.
  2. Apply for admission to the university first; scholarship consideration follows the admission process.
  3. Prepare the required documents (see below) and submit them by the scholarship‑specific deadline (e.g., 1 December 2026 for TU Delft, late January/early February 2027 for Maastricht).
  4. Monitor the university’s scholarship page for any additional forms or reference‑letter requests.
  5. Await the scholarship decision and, if successful, follow the university’s instructions for enrolment and visa application.
